My name is Rachel Stenta and I’m lucky to have lived and worked in beautiful Moab, Utah for the past 27 years! I’ve raised my family here and watched our community and our state grow and change!
After a 30 year career in Public Service (Administration), I decided to start a new chapter in my life and do something that I love, quilting! I’m grateful to have the opportunity to explore my creative side and I also stay busy with another side business, web development and hosting – Moab Pages.
It’s a good life and I’m happy to share in your projects and help you create something you are excited about!
I love exploring new ideas and I am excited to see each new project that comes my way! I will care for and complete your project as if it were my own!
I made my first quilt with my grandmother when I was nine. She was a quilter in rural Ohio and she mostly made her quilts from scraps of clothes. Her quilting frame was setup in her parlor and she hand quilted every quilt with love. I loved being in her sewing room and playing with her buttons, empty spool threads and looking at the beautiful patterns on the fabrics. Being a military family that moved frequently, the quilts our Granny made us were our most cherished possessions. They covered us in her love wherever we were.
We lost my Granny almost 30 years ago, and I now have time to carry on her traditions. She handed down her love of sewing to me. When I’m making a quilt for someone I enjoy picking colors they will love, a pattern that says something about who they are or who they love and then while I’m sewing each piece, I’m thinking about them. Quilts are truly made with our hearts!
I’m excited to be able to help others finish their quilting projects. Pass your love and passion on to someone else. Keep the tradition alive!
